The descendants of Dona Carolina are admirers of the region’s exuberant nature and the place’s historic value, so they decided to share with the public all the farm’s charms, transforming it into a Historic Hotel. For this, the entire farm and its headquarters were completely restored and restructured to provide to its guests, a unique stylish and comfortable experience. With a personalized service, this legitimate Brazilian colonial complex surrounded by the preserved Atlantic Forest will offer incredible days to you and your family!
Built in 1872 by Dona Carolina and her husband José Alves Cardoso, Jaboticabal Farm was an important coffee producer and pioneer of the abolitionist movement in Brazil. Living in a country where the slavery regime still existed, the abolitionist Dona Carolina anticipated the law signed by Princess Isabel in 1888. She freed the slaves of her farm and granted to them a land with 100 bushels – the same size as the property she lived in. In 1919, after her death, the farm assumed the name by which it is known today.
